Tenua #21 multiguitar – odem Guitars

The desire for a double-neck instrument that combines electric bass and electric guitar on one body led the client of this special Tenua to our custom store. After defining the key data, it was clear that ergonomics would play a special role for such an instrument, if the instrument should not only look spectacular, but also function fully as an instrument in practical terms. The choice therefore quickly fell on our Tenua model, which with its compact dimensions and headless construction was an ideal starting point for this project. In order to accommodate the scale length of the 5-string bass, the left horn of the body was lengthened, while retaining the characteristic sweeping lines and keeping the instrument clearly recognizable as a Tenua. The two scales are twisted at an angle of 3 degrees and the bass scale was set slightly lower in the body compared to the guitar scale. Thus the playability of the necks and the balance of the body could be optimized. The classic sitting position can thus still be used, which increases the playing comfort while sitting. Equipped with piezo pickups, the electric guitar offers a wide range of sound variations despite having only one magnetic pickup. Together with the bass scale, this guitar becomes a real multi-instrument. Further harmoniously combined details such as the odem logo in the 12th fret of the bass scale made of paua, the top made of plum wood, the pretty radial shaped grain of the swamp ash, the inconspicuously recessed battery compartment as well as the uniquely drawn electric compartment cover made of copper adorn the instrument and invite you to discover new worlds of playing and sound.
