This is the first prototype of an odem Guitars bass guitar to test a new body variant. It was made as a 5-string version with a long scale. The body is made of three-piece alder with a beautiful grain and a top made of pear with an equally beautiful texture. A satinwood fingerboard was chosen for the neck to match the color. The covers of the Bassbar pickups by pickup specialist Harry Häussel adorn the same wood and the bridge version of the custom pickups has inlayed the odem Guitars logo in mother-of-pearl. The electronics with the 2-band-EQ from Richter Electronic Engineering, an active-passive volume switch and the pickup blender allow many sound variations. The neck was crafted from a two-tone padouk piece that showed some wormholes during manufacturing. In the spirit of sustainability and since this is a prototype, the wood, which would not be used in a series production, was decided to be still used and the wormholes were filled with epoxy. The sound of this instrument was not affected in any way. The neck was reinforced with two titanium rods, and the fingerboard was made a little thicker than is normally the case.
