When looking at this Spera, the first thing that probably catches the eye is the wildly grained poplar wood top with a turquoise blue wild river of epoxy running through it. In the dark, the top reveals another hidden highlight as the river begins to glow. In harmonious contrast to the bright top, alder was used as the body wood, which was artificially aged through a thermal treatment and therefore received a beautiful chocolate brown hue. Matching this shade, colored ebony was chosen for the fretboard. The dot inlays made of paua are extending the blue color of the epoxy to the fingerboard. The headstock was designed as a “matching headstock”, resulting in a very cohesive overall look. The hardware finish beginning from the locking tuners followed by the pickup caps right up to the vibrato system with roller bearings has been given a vintage treatment, adding another exciting detail to this guitar.
